MOMOFUKU SSAM BAR . 207 2nd Ave, New York, NY
We had such a great meal at our last visit to Momofuku Ssam Bar. Before going to a show at Lincoln Center, my boyfriend and I used the gift certificate we've been saving up for dinner.
The Diver Scallops appetizer was topped with yuba, blood orange and cilantro. I liked the perky contrast of the blood oranges with the seafood-it was refreshing. However, I felt that the minced scallops lost that fine fibrous texture that I love so much.
I can't wait to eat this dish again! Korean style all the way-rice cakes were topped with spicy pork sausage, chinese broccoli and sichuan peppercorn. The thing that made it so good was how crunchy onions contrasted with the soft chewiness of the rice cakes. Yum!! The meat of the Roasted Lamb Loin and Belly dish was delicious. The toasted bulgar was crunchy and served as great texture against the egg yoke. We ordered this plate without the pistachios due to my nut allergy.
