One of my favorite places to visit is Mitsuwa Market Place in Edgewater, NJ. Even though I've blogged about this place a couple times, I want to share with you my most recent experience involving sashimi. Mitsuaw offers a large selection of sushi grade fish and it's so much cheaper to eat sashimi at home than it is in restaurants. We got scallops, tuna, yellowfin and fatty tuna!
Pickled radish, a perfect accompaniment for the fish.
Here's a shot of the cubed radish with Tamagoyaki (traditional Japanese rolled egg omelet and I always have to get it!) Mitsuwa also offers a huge selection of pre-made pickled veggies and sides, the one in the foreground is a mixture of veggies and lotus root.
I love buying grilled mackrel at Mitsuwa because it can easily stink up your kitchen if you cook it at home.
KATSUHANA at MITSUWA . 595 River Road, Edgewater, NJ 07020 | 9am - 9pm
I finally had a chance to visit Mitsuwa again (you can see my previous post here.) Not only is their grocery store huge but they have a nice food court with plenty of options. Another reason why I love shopping here is because they have a substantial selection of sake, unlike any other place I've come across.
The fake food showcase at Katsuhana drew me in. I ordered the #2 set ($11.50) which included a Berkshire pork loin cutlet, rice, tofu and miso soup.
It was so much food!
Afterwards we had dessert at Oishinbo and ate these shaped fish pancakes filled with red bean paste, yum!
